North America in a few words
North America generally refers to the geographical and administrative region formed by the United States and Canada and bounded by the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Arctic Ocean to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Central America to the south. It covers an area of about 20 million square kilometres and has a population of more than 345 million. While the landscapes and natural environments of this region are therefore of great variety, it nevertheless has a certain historical and cultural unity.
Climate in North America
North America's climates are extremely diverse. The northern part is characterized by arctic and subarctic climates. Two-thirds of the eastern United States and southern Canada are subject to a humid continental climate. On the west coast, an oceanic climate prevails, while California has a Mediterranean-type climate. The western interior of the United States is characterized by its aridity, which is mainly mountainous and desert.
